Danny The Street is a DC comics character, a sentient street that serves as refuge for social misfits like the Doom Patrol.

In reality, HF acid reacts with the nerves in a way that burn victims cannot even tell they are being burned. Moreover, because of how HF acid reacts with calcium and magnesium in the body, it doesn't take more than a palm-sized burn (like the one Clay receives on his shoulder) to be fatal without medical treatment.
