Reseña destacada
Plot is basically these: Two women go the same day to the same clinic at the same time to get an In vitro fertilisation, but they get mixed up because their names are very similar.
Concept was interesting but the plot feels convoluted and at the same time underdeveloped and it feels like it stretches out.
First problem is the gay best friend character, whom immediately accepts her friend's request of having his sperm for the IVF. That scene was so weird, he obviously reacts harsh to it and literally the next scene is him at the clinic ready to do it????
He also has a boyfriend that shows up after all of this, they have a kiss scene and stuff that goes nowhere, I think all of that should have been put after her friend first tells him and before all the clinic stuff. It just feels weird somebody would so quickly agree to such a thing.
There's a musical scene with the main character in the woods which I thought was very lovely and well made. There's also a very beautiful shot of the main character near the end that almost looks like a painting, I was quite impressed by that.
The mother is a straight up alcoholic mother trope, and all of the acting is very wooden and fake, but this is something that happens in every venezuelan movie I have seen, it's just the way they speak sounds so forced and rehearsed, I have yet to see a national movie where the characters speak naturally.
The make up and hair do of the singer character was terrible.
Overall, enjoyable movie, I get what they were going for, don't think it translated that well.
