Macario is based on the short story of Juan Rulfo.

Macario is based on the short story of Juan Rulfo of the same name and belongs along with other sixteen stories to the book "El llano en llamas" published in 1953. Juan Rulfo, writer, screenwriter and photographer. He is the watershed of Mexican literature and is considered one of the greatest writers of Latin American literature from XX century. Macario is a man who suffers from mental faculties, no father and mother who lives with her godmother and Felipa , maid Godmother and the town where he lives which discriminates against and mistreated. Macario reveals his innocence talking of his life in the blink of an eye and shows us their fears , desires, and everything that makes him happy.
