Born and raised in Hollywood, California in 1954, Robert had his first experience with set construction, as a member of the Stage Crew at Le Conte Junior High, at the age of 14, and went on to attend Hollywood High School (Class of '72).
In 1974, he began working as an IATSE Local 33 Stagehand, and soon gravitated to set construction, for numerous TV shows, and theme parks.
In 1978, he began what would be 25 year long relationship with Carthay Set Services, doing set construction, and occasionally special effects, on over 400 television commercials.
From 1989 to 1991, he worked for Landmark Entertainment's Roboshop, building and installing props for two theme parks in Japan; Sanrio's Puroland, in Tokyo, Japan, and Sanrio's Harmonyland on Kyushu Island, Japan.
In 1997, while working for Carthay Sets, Robert was a construction foreman on the first traveling set for Jeopardy!. That led to a 7 year relationship with Jeopardy! (and later Wheel of Fortune), as a traveling carpenter/grip, when both of those shows were on the road.
In 2002, while building sets for the non-union TV show Power Rangers, Disney bought the show, and turned it into an IATSE Union show. Robert immediately joined IATSE Local 44 as a Propmaker. And for the next 20 years, he worked primarily as a Propmaker Foreman.
In 2022, Robert retired from IATSE Local 44, and Motion Picture Industry.
