She was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to Guiding Public Health Response to, and Public Understanding of, Covid-19. She is the Bruce and John Usher Professor of Public Health at the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland.
