Doctor of philosophy, he became an actor having studied under Ariane Mnouchkine and John Strasberg. He became a playwright and a theater director. His adaptation and staging in Arabic with french over-titles of Sophocles Antigone won a prize. He was co-director with Elisabeth Chailloux of the Théâtre des Quartiers d'Ivry.
