John Joseph Romanski was born in Bohemia, New York, the oldest of two children. His father is John Joseph Romanski (of the same name) and his mother is Kristen Romanski. He has Italian, Polish, and Irish ancestry. At about the age of 8, John and his family moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina, where he attended Fort Mill Middle School and Fort Mill High School. He then moved to Columbia, South Carolina as a student at the University of South Carolina. Although he was majoring in Broadcast Journalism, John had a keen interest in acting. He had performed in a few shows in high school and wanted to continue to learn more about acting on the stage. During his time at the University of South Carolina, John became a Theatre minor and performed in more than 15 shows.
John appeared in his first paying theatre show during the summer of 2017 as a member of Rhinoleap Production's "The Three Musketeers." Portraying the role of D'Artagnan, he learned a crash course on stage combat, including hand-to-hand and rapier.
John appeared in his first ever short film in 2019 when his roommate and fellow actor/director William John Hollerung began his work in the film world. The two appeared in a four minute short film called "Innocence" for the Campus Movie Fest at UofSC. That began a path in the film world - as the two collaborated on several more short films before they eventually made their way to Atlanta, Georgia.
Upon their arrival in Atlanta, the two helped to create "Famously Hot Films," a small group of industry professionals looking to create their own high-quality films in the Atlanta-area. The group consists of John Romanski, Will Hollerung, Kinzie Correll, Noelle Tsintzos and Rachel Smith. The group received a Best Supporting Actor award for their Atlanta 48 Hour Film Festival short film "Made for Each Other" - where John received a runner up award for Best Lead Actor at the festival. That film went on to screen at the Rome International Film Festival, the Global Shorts Film Festival and at a festival in South Africa.
John and Famously Hot Films continue their work in the Atlanta area. He has recently become SAG-Eligible and is working hard to grow in his craft.
When John isn't acting on the stage or screen, he is usually making music, watching New York Giants football and learning all he can about cooking.
