Maynard Bagang is an Asian-American actor and was born in Angeles City, Philippines. A Mechanical Engineering background from Holy Angel University, Philippines and Excelsior College in Albany, New York. He retired as a Police Officer in Las Vegas, Nevada and was awarded by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department the Medal of Honor for rescuing a hostage while taking fire during a robbery shooting. He also served and retired in the US Navy as a Nuclear and Mechanical Engineer. Maynard is an Iraq war veteran. He was certified as a Nuclear Technician by Counter-Terrorism Operations Support (CTOS) at the Nevada Nuclear Security Site (NNSS). Maynard also learned and trained Karate in Tokyo, Japan where he attained the rank of a Yon Dan (4th degree) Blackbelt under the Japan Karate Association. He was the 2013 and 2014 Western States Karate Champion. Maynard is a US Team member to compete at the 16th Karate World Championship Tournament in 2024 in Tokyo, Japan. Maynard is currently serving as an Inspector for the Nevada State Athletic Commission. After retiring from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2017, Maynard started his acting career. Some of his best works are from the television series' In The Shadows, Dark Ops: China White, and My Father's Keeper where he was also a fight scene coordinator, and from the movies' Starstruck, The Business Trip where he won the Best Actor Awards at the 2024 Hong Kong Indie Film Festival and at the 2023 Kansas City Independent Film Festival, and I'll Be There who won the Audience Choice Award at the 30th Austin Film Festival and won The Best Feature at the Santa Clarita International Film Festival. Maynard also appeared in the documentary film Wristlock: The Martial Arts' Influence on Police Use of Force as one of the martial arts experts.
