Was a reporter whom traveled to Guyana in 1978 with the late California
congressman Leo Ryan to investigate the People's Temple cult led by
Rev. Jim Jones. He survived the airport massacre which killed several
other reporters, fleeing cult members as well as Ryan and preceded the
mass suicide of over 900 of the reverend's followers.
