Out of Her Element

A well written,thought provoking film about how we often judge others based on what we see from the outside looking in.Two former school classmates who both thought the other had the perfect family life. They were close during those years and yet really never knew each other as well as they thought they did.This film shows how lives go in completely different directions yet are more alike than anyone imagines. We all struggle with inner demons yet think no one else feels the same way. For me it is a painful reminder of my own feelings of awkwardness in high school,thinking everyone around me had a better family life,more self-esteem,more friends and more happiness. A surprising twist at end leaves you deep in thought. Keep an eye on Nina Vincent-a star in the making. She gives a moving,powerful performance.I found myself transfixed by her singing and her acting.Would love to see this as a feature film.
