Quasarman aka Mike Quasar scores another winner in my book with this well-written and directed hard-boiled noir, yet another overlooked video from the turn of this century overdue for rediscovery.
Journeyman Adult actor Brian Surewood has the lead role (and narrates his flashback tale) as an alcoholic killer Crease Collins, whose first name i wrote down as Chris, thinking a Euro accent was in place, but everybody pronounced it "Crease".
He's involved in and likely to be blamed for half a dozen killings, which are all tastefully staged off-screen (with flashes of light and the sound of loud gunshots), as he relates the stories of a variety of interesting characters including barman Pat Myne, Myne's ex-wife Kelsey Heart, femme fatale Shelbee Myne , sexy bar girl Tabitha Stevens, and especially the pimp Ian Daniels. Their stories criss-cross and the intelligent script keeps everything straight leading to a surprise, open-ending conclusion.
Buried in the Metro catalog, this is on a high quality level with Quasar's "Memoirs of a Madame", and indicates I will have to take him more seriously, despite many a routine assignment for lesser labels.
