Statuesque Olivia Del Rio brightens up many porn films, but she gets a vehicle of her own in the obscure Joe D'Amato video IL LAUREATO. It is far superior compared to many of his better-known latter-day efforts.

Story unfolds mainly as memories (she writes in her journal), set at a beautiful home somewhere in Eastern Europe. (This, like its companion feature LA FIGLIA DEL PADRINO seem to be set in Prague rather than Italy).

Del Rio is stunningly styled, with a fabulous hairdo and interesting period costumes (at one point impersonating a '20s flapper look). She's married to Mike Foster, who typically is dallying with other beauties. Of course, he objects to her similar infidelities, the double standard being in full force.

For Del Rio fans, her beauty here, plus uninhibited sex scenes, is near a career best. With double penetrations the norm, her carrying the mantle of similarly monikered Vanessa Del Rio is quite evident.

The other leading ladies Antonella Del Lago (I presume the blonde) and Stephanie Silver are also highly arousing. D'Amato stages several sex scenes on the house's stairway to the upper level, a photogenic gambit.

Story involves a young student (the title "laureate") who's boarding with Foster and Del Rio, but the untranslated version I watched offered little clue to what the ostensible plot line was about. It's meant to be a period piece, with some Scott Joplin type music on the soundtrack.
