Not Close To An Ace Service Game

A rom-com sports movie that tries to be different, but ends up really not connecting the shots. While the movie for the most part has a slightly different and uplifting tone and script, it is tremendously let down by the poor tennis that is supposedly the primary backdrop of this movie. Many of the subplots don't get sufficient attention and development such as the tennis manager's son's social development and relationship with a girl he likes. The title of the movie (2nd Serve) is perhaps one of the best of elements of the whole movie. Probably one needs to stick with and look out for such sports movies as The Cutting Edge (1992) that was able to, at least, adequately portray a pseudo-ice skating presentation as well as offer a much more intense and extended focus on the romance angle and drama.
