Penthouse in one of its affirmative action moods, gave actor Marcus London responsibility for directing several features, and "The Dinner Affair" shows his abilities to get the job done. His writing is A-OK too, in integrating the various sex segments into a cohesive whole.
Linking mechanism is nearly the whole cast (minus young generation Lexi Belle as a teenager) sitting around the dinner table, dining. It takes place in the afternoon like a Thanksgiving get-together, a fact explicitly alluded to at one point. The couples are old friends, but the dialog is sarcastic and even nasty, as old grudges surface, particularly between London and Tommy Gunn. But this does not lead to any dramatic showdowns or anything of consequence, as all concerned are 100% interested in sex, in this case changing partners (without acknowledging the fact).
I was a bit surprised that at the end everyone goes home happy and no one actually questions who's been cheating on who. They technically aren't swingers, but the net effect of the show is what used to be called wife-swapping, tacit not explicit.
Opening sex scene involves the absent Belle -she's up in her room, visited by boyfriend Rocco Reed, who humps her real good. Rest of the feature consists of the 4 couples each splitting up on one pretense or another to hump somebody else's spouse -each generating an arousing XXX scene. The photography is excellent, particularly in arousing tight close-up blow jobs, given emphasis by director London, who has Bobbi Starr servicing him when he dons his actor's hat.
All the gals are beautifully made up and styled, not something one can take for granted anymore (body makeup in recent porn is often left wanting, with blemishes ruling the screen). In particular, Tanya Tate (who's paired off with Tony DeSergio) looks like a million bucks this time out.
