I suppose it depends on what you are used to - but the combination of genres in this is fascinating, IMHO. Definitely the first musical / pink / swamp creature / reincarnation film that I've seen - and it was very funny as well.
I found the main actress to be very engaging and - particularly during the song and dance numbers - convincingly looking like she was having a great time. Having Christopher Doyle on board is always a plus in my view and, sure enough, this looks great despite the limited budget. Even the story makes some kind of sense if you just go with the flow and accept the internal logic.
