A year after the Fairy Tail guild has overcome the diabolical forces of Acnologia and Zeref, Natsu and his friends seek out Elefseria, the sole surviving member of the original wizard guild Magia Dragon, and employer of the 100 Years Quest. Their near impossible mission: to seal away the Five Dragon Gods, or face global devastation. Meanwhile, a spirited new member named Touka is recruited to Fairy Tail. Although her vibrant energy and passionate nature makes her perfect for the guild, there seems to be more to her than meets the eye. Determined to accomplish their insurmountable mission, Natsu and company commence their treacherous search for the Dragon Gods. However, when they encounter the Diabolos guild and Touka reveals her true colors, Fairy Tail will find that the 100 Years Quest isn't the only challenge they face.
In the grand scheme of things, 'Fairy Tail' won't be remembered for its world-building; however, I think it gets overlooked far too often even if it's mostly surface level. Following this further, the franchise throws us for a loop in the form of new northern continent Guiltina. Reminiscent of the days of the Alvarez Empire and the pseudo-isekai world of Edolas, to be back with Team Natsu and immersed in Mashima's tale of true friendship is a breath of fresh air that couldn't have come at a better time.
