"Short circuits" causing sparks in people's lives.

Five short stories by five different directors linked perhaps by the idea of unexpected encounters, attraction (sometimes shared, sometimes not) and misunderstanding between the sexes.

All five stories are quite effective in conveying powerful emotions in little time, even without words in the case of the one entitled "Urgent repair", which I found the most gripping one of the whole lot.

On the other hand, the main characters in the short films do find it hard to convey their emotions, because they are physically or mentally alienated: a collection of antiheroes, of "small people" with communication problems with which many viewers are, however, likely to empathise.

I guess that one the possible readings of the film is that nearly everyone, whatever the personal circumstances, is striving for affection and understanding, and that this is not necessarily attainable.
