This was graciously gifted to me to watch by Phil Herman. I'm always down to support independent cinema. Let me start off by saying this right out of the gate, Horrortales.666 Part 2 is insane. It is an anthology movie using the style of shot on video movies to bring this level of grime and dirt to the screen. It has a do it yourself vibe. This is an anthology movie so the stories vary in quality and enjoyment.
The wraparound segment brings back Joel Wynkoop as the Burglar. He is up to his old tricks in broad daylight in sunny Florida sneaking into a house. It's not just any house though. This house is evil and it is drawing him back to those dreaded stories. This is wild and over the top in execution. The evil spirit likes to repeat itself and it has a catchphrase that burrows into your mind like a dreaded parasitic ear worm. You know the kind. Joel is naturally wild and exaggerated in his emotions, everything is set to 11 from the get go.
There is a middle segment that is all about how Joel's burglar gets hungry and the demon has to make sandwiches for him. There's a mild chuckle there but it goes on too long and then rounds that corner again into absurd humor. You had another segment where Santa becomes homicidal. Santa lives in the North pole sub division with a nice 20 year mortgage. You knew exactly what was going down when Santa mentioned how good a guy this one particular elf was. At no point are you supposed to take this seriously but then again that's the beauty of it.
