In her speech after she and her co-star Allen Dizon won Best Actress and Best Actor in a Leading role respectively at the Metro Manila Film Festival (2019), she thanked Director Brillante Mendoza and jokingly remarked that with the cash prize they will be receiving (P200,000) they would already do better than breaking even. The film was pulled out of the cinemas because of low box office returns but has since received numerous recognitions locally and internationally.
