Kartik is the back bone of this movie . After Mohan , he has the boy next door look to suit any middle class character . He has a unique dialogue delivery here when he's playing the Brahmin tenant as if chewing beetle leaves . That really goes with his role .
He has come to the city to earn money for his mother's ( Vadivukkarasi ) operation. His friend Janakraj sends him to a Muslim friend to work . He dresses up as a Muslim chap to get this job.
Paralelly he has to lie that he is a Brahmin to get a house on rent . His house owners Manivannan and Sarala have a daughter Devayani of marriageable age and they are searching a groom for her .They are more than happy to offer him their house . Devayani has all delicate features to suit a Brahmin girl's role .
Meanwhile some confusion forces him to dress up as a Christian which makes him the object of attraction of his pretty secretary Sangeetha .
Confusion after confusion, twist after twist , its a total laugh riot . The song Salukku Salukku is very catchy and remains with you for a long time .
