Private Gold 26: Tatiana 1

Extending over 3 videos, TATIANA is a good example of the quality productions being shot in Europe over a decade ago, when big-budget porn was in flower. The rush to the bottom has made this sort of epic nearly obsolete.

Tania Rusoff is a stunning beauty, starring as a farm girl in early 19th Century Ukraine, struggling to save her family farm. Of course sex is the mode to raise money, and the film settles into a routine format for its later reels (of a 2-hour-length), as she signs up at a bordello and watches johns being serviced through each door's peep hole, one after the other.

With a huge cast of dozens of attractive women, film delivers what the fans pay for, and adds in quality lensing, costuming and location photography. Of course, if porn lovers want to settle for just a bit of the old in & out action, as is prevalent in the current Internet porn universe, going to all the trouble to mount such a lavish production is a waste of time.

I haven't watched the sequels, but this first film about TATIANA is a winner.
