Boasting top names both in front of and behind the video camera, TABOO IX suffers mightily from the ROCKY syndrome -it's difficult to maintain quality or interest with the umpteenth xerox copy.
Director Alex De Renzy and scripter this time out Ron Sullivan/Henri Pachard go through the motions in what had to be a less than creative assignment for such Hall of Famers. When old footage featuring Kay Parker & Mike Ranger from Kirdy Stevens' initial TABOO is shown, fans can only wish they had re-watched that one instead.
Opening has Kay jogging, as title song is sung. She tells a shrink (Sullivan) about her dreams, cuing a brief flashback featuring archive footage of Jamie Gillis and John Leslie.
New characters are introduced in the form of Raven, wearing an American Flag outfit and Buck Adams in a bed scene where she's obsessed with his jockstrap. More archive footage follows of Gillis' memory of Jonathan Younger with Karen Summer and Amber Lynn from Part V. It turns out that Raven is married to Gillis.
Second sex scene crosses the line: a busty Latina is humping a guy and she turns out to be a Trannie, has anal sex and the guy sucks her little dick, with a fake money shot resulting. This bizarre content (for a mainstream porn feature) ends with Kay coming into the room and witnessing them in action. Turrns out the guy is Kay's husband George.
Script takes a detour with a crowd-pleasing (I'm the crowd, by the way) lesbian scene of blind-folded Raven with should-be Hall of Famer Alicyn Sterling, her huge nipples holding center stage, and Gillis watching as voyeur.
Gillis's pretty secretary Jane (Kym Wilde) voices over her fantasy as she masturbates at her desk, being turned on by listening to the doc's tape of Kay's story about her husband and the Trannie. She uses a doorknob as a dildo, reminiscent of Anne Heywood's classic scene 25 years earlier in THE FOX. Gillis enters and humps her on her desk.
Kay has a psychoanalysis session with her official shrink, Gillis, and we see a Part 1 flashback of Ranger and Parker as she talks of her current hubby George. For a change of scenery, Gillis visits a low-down bar, where he finds Alicyn. Tom Byron humps secretary Kym in a threesome thrown in as sex filler, while Alicyn phones for a girl to come and service Jamie.
Gillis dresses up in drag, and has a threesome with Alicyn and a pale young girl - turns out the women are hookers. Then he meets Kay one last time out on the street.
I was depressed just typing out this synopsis, or chronicle of nonsense. Clearly the taboo of the title was changed from incest to LGBT action in Part IX, but to call this a coherent movie would be a stretch. Just as today's tens of thousands of gonzo exercises add up to nothing, so does this waste of talent, clearly an excuse to peddle video product with the lucrative TABOO title as bait.
