On lautalla pienoinen kahvila

Tuija Halonen comes to the logging camp to write an article about new methods in logging. She soon gets a job helping Siiri Angerkoski run her canteen. Miss Halonen clearly has something going on with the new, handsome, and young log-roller, William Markus, even though the chief clerk would like to make her his and have the log-rollers stop their never-ending singing. Miss Angerkoski has a boyfriend in frog-like, basso-voiced Kalle Viherpuu.

Why should anyone stop singing in a light opera? This Finnish movie is clearly marked as such, with the log-rollers being big, boisterous boys, and a bit of a plot is added at the end so Markus can rescue the fair damsel. I'd like to add some insight to this mention, but this might be the third Finnish movie I've ever seen. So I'll content myself with noting that the general novelty of a Finnish light opera filled with performers I've never seen before was enough of a novelty to keep me entertained throughout.
