Based on a stage play "Up 'n' Under" first performed by the Hull Truck Theatre Company in 1984.

Patzer
The movie is set in Upton, West Yorkshire but at one point the team pass the Humber Bridge near Kingston Upon Hull while travelling from Arthur's house to the local rugby ground. This would be a 100 mile detour but was likely added to the movie as an homage to the original stage play being set in Hull.

So bad it's.....well, crap really.

With so many famous comedy actors you would think this could raise a few laughs. Unfortunately it is so so predictable and most of the characters and jokes are one dimensional and so clichéd. A waste of time and no doubt lottery money has been wasted. Even viewed as a harmless bit of fun this film must rate as poor. The storyline is obvious and uninspired, the acting wooden and the sporting action - as in so many British sports films - a joke. Am i the only person who thinks Neil Morrisey is the most overrated, luckiest and annoying comedy actors around. Got to remark on Samantha Janus' arse....i don't think i've seen a better one on screen. A perfect 10/10. Absolutely gorgeous!! Should have showed a lot more of it.
