In one scene Billy Duncan is eating a Gyro which is a Greek/Turkish dish which is usually served in a pita. There has always been controversy with the way you pronounce this dish, Billy Duncan pronounced it one way, and Father Chris corrected him by pronouncing it a more traditional way. There is no wrong way of Gyro, it all depends on where you live.

Alexia's beeper went off and she said that she is a last year medical resident, and she is on call but she keeps dancing with Billy outside, and then she is seen inside the dance hall, never making any call.

Liked it enough to wish it had been better

Wouldn't have been so harsh as Bob but find it hard to disagree with him. Except that the credits do list a real Father Chris as technical advisor. The modern dancing was good though distractingly overprofessional (the dance teacher kept looking amazed; rightly so), the tired plot where the kid with a scrappy background needs to win the overprotected girl despite her parents' opposition and her betrothal to a jerk... well, that's an embarrassment though using the Greek community as background gave the opportunity for a touch of novelty. The Greek music and dancing were well used.
