FBI Agent John Olansky (Eric Roberts) leads his handpicked squad based in L. A. They are the best criminal investigators who don't necessarily play by the book. Mal Robinson (Morris Chestnut) and Amanda Reardon (Angie Harmon) are new additions to the team right out of Quantico. Scott Stoddard (D. B. Sweeney), Annie Rooney (Christine Tucci), and Jack DiRado (Zach Grenier) are the other members.
This is a solid cop show on ABC. It's more world weary. The dominate coloring is gray. There is action, conflicts, and yadayada. I wasn't going to say too much about this show until I got to episode 12. That episode suggests a topic on what makes a successful police procedural show.
I do remember that episode unlike the other episodes. I remember the heart attack and the black out. I vaguely remember the dancing. That episode is different. There is no case to solve. There is no action. It's just the group stuck in the office. It's the first time that the whole group gets to build chemistry together. They become a workplace family and that's what a show needs to go on a long run. The individual cases are not that decisive. It's about "Family". An audience wants to be a part of the family. Episode 12 should be done much earlier. By #12, the episodes were being burn off during the summer and the writing was already on the wall.
