This is the final film role of Chih-Kang Tan, the young actor who played the main character Kang/A-dou. He passed away in September 1993 in a traffic accident at the age of 18, just a year after this film was released. Like his character here, he was supposed to have moved to the US; in his case, to study film. He'd only stayed in Taiwan for the planned sequel to this film, which was ultimately scrapped after his death.

This totally shows how it works

Once you step in, you'll never get out. The most "real" movie about Taiwanese mafias, or gangsters. What will you do if there's no more justice in the society?
