"Police Story" is one of the best TV shows of the 1970s. For some reason, years after the show supposedly ended, the network occasionally aired a few TV movies under the "Police Story" banner. In the case of "Monster Manor", they did not come up with a new story but did a remake of one of the weaker episodes of the original series.
This film is about some unique cops. These handsome guys seem to act like teenagers and they are more interested in bagging women than anything else. So when Officer Pardonales is caught by his wife, she throws him out and he moves into a house owned by a daffy old lady. This house soon becomes like Delta House from "National Lampoon's Animal House"....with lots of cops moving in and behaving like teenagers.
Overall, this episode doesn't improve on the original episode. In fact, at 90 minutes instead of 60, the story is drawn out further...and this is not a good thing. If you have to watch the story, see the older version...it's better and more original.
