This film is often confused with the Luc Besson film, Im Rausch Der Tiefe (1988) - also known as 'The Big Blue' - but they are two completely different films. Oddly enough, when the French film came out, it was reviewed in New York magazine and mistakenly credited to Andrew Horn, who directed the American 'The Big Blue'.
