Character actor Thomas Mitchell plays O. Henry who finds someone to tell a story too in each episode . Set in 1904 New York the 1957 series is a treat for boomers to see so many actors that will go on to later fame in 60's tv. Star Trek, Gilligan's Island and the Addams Family for example.
