Burning cars and a welfare-system in danger while president Trump tells the audience: "Look at what happened last night in Sweden..."
During 2015 Sweden opened their hearts and welcomed around 160.000 refugees - soon they would go from Europes most open-hearted country to take a more restrictive policy and closing all borders. For years there has been a tough climate to adress problems associated with immigration and some left-winged journalist and politicians even accused those who were critical of being rasists. At the same time Swedens political map was redrawn and saw the rise of the Sweden Democrats - an immigrant-skeptic populistic party who today might have as much as 20-25% of swedish votes. How could this go so far? Why did it happen?
This documentary gathers famous journalists, writers and people active on social media from right to left with ordinary people on the streets to answer some questions, but maybe its higher purpose is not to only give us answers, but show us that there is a possibility to have a debate on a more mature level - something that truely has been lacking in media and on the political stage in Sweden.
