Nick Orleans made some great Adult features around 20 years ago, especially for Adam & Eve, but this recent release from that label is a sad comedown. Perhaps the title hinted at this retreat from quality.
Of course the line-up of beautiful asian models or actresses is the draw, but the male casting is awful, acting non-existent and content of Allison Leigh's script embarrassing. This is the sort of lazy, drowsy, unexciting yet explicit sex content that has latterly given Couples cinema in Adult Entertainment a bad name.
Marica Hase, whose thick Japanese accent renders her dialog mainly unintelligible, stars alongside hubby Dylan Snow (a 100% uninteresting porn non-actor) as a couple living in a lovely estate he acquired when his company got acquired. They invite folks over for the title retreat, which turns out to be duller than even one would expect, of watching people affect various yoga poses.
So add XXX humping to the posing and you have slightly over 2 hours of nothingness. Since Orleans' specialty is fetishism, he not only emphasizes the gals' formfitting yoga togs (especially viewed from the rear) but even includes a stupid 5-minute "Bonus" on the DVD of actresses Jasmine Summers and Nari Park trying on various outfits.
My favorite director from Orleans' heyday, Bud Lee, was famous for his love of Oriental women (and marriage to Asia Carrera) and quality featuring of same, so it's not out of the question that Orleans and his trusty pal (and fellow Hall of Fame director) James Avalon at the camera would spotlight same here. But just staring at them is not exactly entertainment.
Worst thing in this disaster is casting Eric John in a lead male role, opposite. He's become old and flabby, hardly the stud of yesteryear but more like those "audience identification" creeps cast in '70s porn to make the dirty old men in the theatrical audience feel comfortable watching sweet young things hump guys in the viewer's age bracket.
