Lots of Frisco-based Adult hangers-on appear in Mickey Mod's unsuccessful radio call-in-show themed "The Luck of the Draw". Mod, who appeared in such trendy local alt-porn productions as "Marriage 2.0" and various kink.com series is not ready for prime time as a filmmaker.
Another alt-performer, Siouxsie Q, fronts the show as the on-the-air talk show host, whose callers bring sex stories to the table, so we can watch them illustrated as sex vignettes. This format is old-hat in porn, and I would recommend instead of this junker another new A & E release using the same format, Skye Blue's "Love on the Line" or the two Brit Porn classics of the genre, DiSanto's "Erotica FM" and Anjali Kara's "Radio Erotica".
Mod's problem is that many of his performers are unattractive and not particularly talented, while his stories are uninteresting. How's that for a deadly combination. Even the title premise, having to do with basing one's life to some extent on the spontaneity of leaving things to chance - well, it's not treated with the style or depth of the greatest filmmaker to tackle that theme -Kieslowski, and in fact the notion gets lost in the shuffle before the final money shot is delivered.
Without proselytizing overmuch, Mod emphasizes a central lesbian romantic triangle involving jock Siouxsie and Arabelle Rafael & Bella Rossi. It is the most interesting segment of the script, but not very convincing or compelling.
Other segments go nowhere, particularly one featuring Daisy Ducati and Owen Gray (both seemingly cast as friends of the auteur rather than top- name talent) or a boring story about roommates in which Nikki Darling overacts horribly.
One big name does show up for work, Cherie DeVille, as a convention attendee looking for a one night stand, but she's much better, however, in the A & E film mentioned above: "Love on the Line".
