Editor Paul Hirsch goes into great details about his work on Brian DePalma's CARRIE. Hirsch starts off talking about his working relationship with DePalma before this movie and then he goes into how he got the job for CARRIE and the various issues that he had throughout the editing process. Fans of Hirsch and CARRIE will certainly love this twenty-five minute interview because he goes into great detail about several choices that had to be made in order to get the film to work. There's a great breakdown of the ending and how the timing had to be just right for the final jump scare to work. He also shares stories about other issues that came up in the editing room as well as sharing his thoughts on how he thought the picture turned out. Fans of CARRIE (who isn't one?) will certainly enjoy hearing these stories as it gives you a clear idea what it was like in the editing room.
