So here is what "Drinksgiving" actually is: When college kids go away to school, Thanksgiving weekend is usually the first time going back home for most of them. Since they are all staying with their parents but not responsible for the actual Thanksgiving parties the next day, they have nothing to do. Therefore, the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving becomes a sort of unofficial high school reunion, where all the kids from town will either meet up at someone's home or a bar to hang out & catch up. Once you are out of college and living in the real world, this "holiday" no longer exists. Instead, (in theory) all these college grads should have places of their own that need paying for, so they have grown-up jobs. Your grown-up job exhausts you, so the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for the day off from work you have the next day, not a time to party. Now this movie is about some 35 year-old looking woman who still apparently doesn't have her stuff together and thinks she can relive her college days by having a "Drinksgiving" at her house. I could maybe buy this if she looked liked a recent college grad and her place looked like the home of someone just starting out, but neither she or the house seem appropriately cast. Nor do any of the other actors. Most of the women look to be mid-30s to early 40s, while most of the men looked to still be college-aged, yet we're supposed to believe they are all classmates? Watch Holly Hunter in "Home for the Holidays" if you want to know what Thanksgiving is like for adults.
