Er war Schauspieler und Autor, bekannt für Boulevard der Dämmerung (1950), Die große Illusion (1937) und Hochzeitsmarsch (1928). Er war mit Valerie Germonprez, Mary Agnes Jones und Margaret Knox verheiratet. Er starb am 12 Mai 1957 in Frankreich.
