An adaptation of the eponymous work of George Bataille, set in the buildup to the Bosnian War. Petar, a young Bosnian Serb, finds himself lost in a social current that is marked by divisiveness. He finds his struggle exacerbated by the woman he desires but can never satisfy. The film sets out to explore both the literary work of Georges Bataille through adapted scenes, spoken lines, and textual references. At the same time, it addresses the psyche of those many who feel lost in the face of the inexorable march of history.
