The historic evening featured Tony Kushner, Austin Pendleton, Harold Bloom, James Shapiro, Edward Mendelson, Phillip Lopate, Louise Kerz-Hirschfeld, Michael Paller, and Roger Copeland, and was emceed by Michael Riedel. The participants offered readings from Eric Bentley's classic works and shared their thoughts about Bentley's influence on them personally and on American theater, music, and culture. Bentley's work with Brecht, his classic books on the theater, and his own great artistry were all highlighted. The evening was punctuated by theater music of Hanns Eisler and Darius Milhaud, whose songs for Mother Courage were performed by Soprano Karyn Levitt in the composer's original, unpublished version for chamber orchestra, conducted by the late multi-Emmy Award winner Glen Roven. Selections from Eric Bentley's Brecht-Eisler Song Book were also performed by Ms. Levitt and the Hanns Eisler Trio. The film captures all the highlights from this one-of-a-kind live event honoring Eric Bentley and his legacy.

Blind people can enjoy, create and teach art as a creative expression. The film profiles Elizabeth Castallano, a visually impaired art teacher and artist. It also tells the story of blind art teacher Jessica Jones and her students at Lavelle School for the Blind in Bronx, NY.

- Brian Lehrer, the popular host of WNYC, New York Public Radio's "The Brian Lehrer Show," hosts a live, hour-long weekly television program on CUNY TV. "Just like my WNYC show, we'll be trying to get at the truth about life and politics in New York City, and give regular New Yorkers a voice through live call-ins and e-mail," said Lehrer. "We'll be providing direct access to mayoral hopefuls and other major news-makers, and doing New York television's only `open phones' call-ins. We'll also invite people to send in photos and original videos that say something meaningful about life in New York today. And, as on the radio, we'll find our ways to sneak in some fun!" The program is cablecast in New York City on Wednesdays from 7: 30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and is simulcast live and archived on-line at www.cuny.tv. - Tinabeth Piña hosts this CUNY TV documentary which profiles five of CUNY's 25 architectural treasures, two of which are National Historic Landmarks - The Graduate Center, Roosevelt House, and the North Campus of The City College of New York (Manhattan); Gould Memorial Library and Hall of Fame at Bronx Community College (The Bronx); and Louis Armstrong House (Corona, Queens). The film features commentary from architects Lisa Easton, Hugh Hardy, George Ranalli, Robert A. M. Stern, and Samuel White - a great-grandson of architect Stanford White; historian Blanche Wiesen Cook; preservation pioneer Otis Pratt Pearsall, Esq.; David Reese, Curator, Louis Armstrong House Museum; and jazz great Wycliffe Gordon, among others.
