- Little Iodine does her best to break up her parents' marriage, ruin a romance between Janis and Marc, and cost her father his job, but eventually she has a change of heart and sets out to correct the wrongs.
- After her father, Papa Russell (Percival Vivian), loses his job because of illness, adolescent Susie Russell (played by newcomer and top-billed Nita Hunter) poses as older than she is in order to get a job singing in a night club. Complications arising from the deception involve her older sister Clara (Cleatus Caldwell), who works at an ad agency and the radio crooner, Jeffrey Westcott (David Bruce), whom she is in love with.
- Near Border Flats, Don Coyote and his friend Sancho are interrupted on their way to the fiesta by a fight. A quick intervention on their part prompts ranch owner Maggie Riley to hire them. Coyote and Sancho meet her surly, younger brother Ted who is wanting Maggie to sell their cattle herd to pay off a bank loan before they lose the ranch. But when they try to drive a herd to market, a gang led by Big Foot Ferguson drives off their cowhands. Ted finds a surveying plumb marked "United Pacific R.R." in a canyon by their ranch. He shows Sheriff Dave Sherman and they learn that the railroad intends to buy a section of Maggie's land, thereby increasing its value. The next day, Coyote, Ted, the sheriff and three deputies drive Maggie's cattle toward Border Flats, and are waylaid by the Fenton gang. But where is Sancho who has disappeared on a mysterious mission?
- Ernie (Jackie Cooper), manager of an apartment house that allows no children, finds himself evicted when his wife, Peg (Meg Randall as Gene Roberts), becomes pregnant. With the help of an imaginary stork and a large department store, he institutes a boycott against the apartment house.
