Fired from his job for shirking his duties, the 'Knight of the Plains' Bart Miller stumbles across a would-be stagecoach robbery and he rescues damsel in distress Betty Taylor. He takes Betty and her pretty girlfriends to the ranch of her father Bill Taylor. Meanwhile Taylor's foreman Luke Hatton is plotting to rustle his boss' herd with the aid of the corrupt lawyer Harkness.

A ranch foreman captures a notorious gang of gold thieves. He ties them up and leaves them for a pursuing posse while he goes out to find the gold they stole. When the posse arrives, the gang's leader convinces them that the foreman is actually the gold thief, and the posse sets out in pursuit of him.

Known as the White Outlaw for the kerchief he wears, Johnny Douglas decides to go straight. Getting a job as a cowhand he gives the kerchief to his new friend Ted Williams. When the rancher's daughter, the girl friend of Ted, agrees to marry the man holding the note on the ranch so he won't foreclose, Ted uses the kerchief when he robs the stage. When Ted is spotted and jailed, Johnny has a plan to return the money and clear Ted.

Henry Weatherby is buying up ranch land to sell as right of way for a new road. When he sends his son Dick and his nephew Pete to kick the Wayne's off their ranch, Dick rebels and joins the Wayne's in their fight against his father.

Marshal Bill Strong sees Red and his gang rob Jake Grant and make him a prisoner. So he arrives posing as a dude to get into the gang. When Jake's daughter arrives he gets Red to let him take her to a cabin where Red can visit her later. Then he frees Jake, sends the gang after him knowing the Sheriff will get them, and goes after Red himself.

Tex Sherwood has just come into possession of a valuable piece of land that will be irrigated by a new dam. Banker Holman knowing the deed must be registered the next day, offers a $50,000 reward for Tex's capture.

Professor Sturgess invents a miraculous engine which can draw unlimited power from the atoms of the air. When the professor is killed, his daughter and her fiance must fight to keep the secret of the power engine out of the hands of evil Weston Dore and his henchmen.

Captain Deane, Major Burleigh and their troops are attacked by a band of hostile Native Americans. Although the soldiers have been ordered to avoid a direct military confrontation, the vainglorious Major Burleigh insists on counterattacking. Deane refuses and Burleigh orders his arrest for insubordination and cowardice. Meanwhile, Deane and his men come to the defense of Elinor Folsom when another hostile band attacks her isolated ranch. After Deane is cleared of the charges, he defeats Burleigh in a fistfight, but Helen's father, John Folsom, convinces the major to not report the incident. Deane is then ordered to convey a military payroll, and Burleigh incites a group of Indians to intercept him. Elinor learns of the plot and rides to warn Deane. As they fight for their lives, the cavalry comes to the rescue. Burleigh is fatally shot and confesses that he, not Deane, has the payroll money. Later, a wedding ceremony is held for Elinor and Captain Deane.

Crooked Bluff Hardcastle is appointed by the court to take care of the business affairs of pretty young Helen Saunders' ranch, which is about to go out of business, but Hardcastle is secretly planning to swindle her out of the ranch. He is thwarted by cowboy Jim Donovan and his friend, banker George Masters, who buy Helen's ranch at auction. Angered, Hardecastle sends his hired thugs to get rid of Donovan and Masters so he can get his hands on the ranch.

Richard Kingsley, son of a financier, trying to aid Marjorie Crenshaw and her sister during a raid on a New York roadhouse, is arrested. His father, enraged by the bad publicity, threatens to disinherit him if he doesn't go to Colorado in search of a mine. While traveling west, Richard meets a group of chorus girls and has his pocket picked by their manager. Without funds, he continues on foot; he meets Kinkaid, a bandit who has stolen $5,000 from Marjorie Crenshaw's father. Richard recognizes that Kinkaid's horse is the one stolen from his father and demands it be returned. Kinkaid gives him the horse but forces Richard to exchange clothes with him. Now mistaken for Kinkaid, Richard must flee from the posse but first uses altruistically the $5,000 he finds in Kinkaid's clothing. Kinkaid, missing the money, backtracks in search of Dick but instead meets Marjorie, whom he tries to seduce. Richard arrives in time to save her and takes her home, where her father believes him to be the bandit who robbed him. All complications are straightened out when Richard's father arrives and identifies his son; Dick discovers the mine; and Marjorie discovers that she loves Dick.

While trying to discover who is rustling cattle from the ranch owned by his father, Hair-Trigger Strong (Henry Roquemore), Bob Strong (Art Mix) meets and falls in love with Celia de la Costa (Fontaine LaRue), the daughter of Hair-Trigger's long-time enemy, who was apparently killed by Strong. Bob goes in pursuit of Juan Escabar (Bud Osborne), whom he suspects is the rustler chief, and finds himself out-numbered and in trouble. Celia warns the elder Strong, who gets the Sheriff (Pete Crawford) and they ride to his rescue.

Davis French, a stalwart member of the Northwest Mounted Police, is ordered to the coast and is therefore unable to keep an appointment to be married with his sweetheart, Jean Dupres. He writes to her, but she does not receive the letter. She arrives at the appointed meeting place, alone and broke, and must accept the hospitality of a despicable character known only as the "Timber Wolf." When Timber Wolf attacks Jean in her cabin, Pierre Santoi, a fine fellow who has fallen in love with her, kills him with a knife. Pierre takes to the woods and meets up with Davis, an old friend, who reluctantly arrests him. Davis takes Pierre back to stand trial and is instrumental in obtaining a verdict of justifiable homicide; Davis is reunited with Jean, and Pierre sets out for the white frontier.

After young Dick Martin's father dies, his mother marries Rance Slavin, with whom Dick does not get along. Years later, after his mother has died, Dick buys his own horse ranch. He discovers one day that his horses are being stolen in large numbers, and sets out to find the thief and get his horses back. However, he is in for a surprise when he finally discovers the identity of the horse thief.

U.S. Government surveyor John Field suspects Nanette, the adopted daughter of Cavalry-Major Webb, of being a spy and disclosing government secrets to the Sioux tribe, in their war against the whites. The Sioux attack and Field sees Nanette talking to an Indian, Eagle Wing during the attack. Field and Eagle Wing fight and the latter is killed. Field brings his body to the fort and Major Webb sees that it is long-lost black-sheep son who has turned renegade. Nanette then tells Field that she has been giving Eagle Wing money to keep him quiet and not disgracing her benefactor. Major Webb then reveals, in flashback, that Nanette is not a Sioux but a white girl kidnapped by the Sioux as an infant. Field then asks Nanette to marry him.
