The original adventures of Strawberry Shortcake and her friends.

Dorothy is carried back to Oz by a green turkey balloon on the final Thanksgiving she is to spend with her aunt and uncle, who are moving to a retirement community. She meets Jack Pumpkinhead, The Hungry Tiger, and Tik Tok, while stopping the evil Tyrone the Terrible Toy Tinker (looking suspiciously like John R. Neil's depiction of the Nome King), who brings the balloon to life to conquer the Emerald City and all of Oz.

The story is set during the Great Depression. Porky and Spanky are the sons of a single mother, who can not afford to buy them presents for Christmas. But they overhear her talking about a Blue Comet, and figure that she will buy the Blue Comet train set for them. She was actually talking about a vacuum cleaner, but the misunderstanding convinces her to buy the train for them. She uses the money she was saving to buy a coat for herself. When she gets sick, her sons enlist their friends in an effort to raise money. They want to purchase the coat for her.

A boy named Peter must save Easter. An evil character named Tin Whiskers takes over the town and re-names everything including the streets to have tin in the name. He has several animal friends who help him and Mother Nature even gives him help.

Strawberry Shortcake travels to Big Apple City to compete with the Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak in a televised bakeoff.

Strawberry Shortcake and her cat Custard are hosting and judging a pet show, but the Purple Pieman and Sour Grapes plotting to have their pets win by cheating.
