- Following an introduction by Bing Crosby, the Cinerama screen widens for scenes of landscapes, cities, peoples, and entertainments of the Soviet Union. Highlights include the historic buildings and churches of Moscow, as the Kremlin; its subway and streets, a spring carnival, the seaside resorts on the Black Sea, a trip down the Voga River, skiers, a troika racing along a snow-covered road, a helicopter view of the North Pole, an Antarctic whale hunt, the capture of a wild boar in the Moyun-Kum of Central Asia, a race by reindeer-drawn sleds, divers in the Sea of Okhotsk, battling an octopus, the capture of antelopes, rafting logs down the Tisza River, and the development of new towns in Siberia. Other scenes include a visit to the Moscow Circus, where the renowned clown Oleg Popov performs, the dancing of the Moiseyev and Piatnitsky companies, and excerpts from the repertoire of the Bolshoi Theater Ballet.
- Documentary film 'Sport of the country of Soviets' is about the history of the development of physical education in the Soviet Union. The sport began to develop rapidly. Athletes have become some of the most popular people in the country. Not a single festive demonstration took place without the participation of gymnasts, football players and other sports representatives.
- In the exercises of troops and forces of the fleet "West-81", held from 04 to 12 September 1981 in the Belarusian, Kiev and Baltic military districts, in the Baltic Sea, on the territory of other ATS states and considered the largest for several decades, took part about 100 thousand servicemen of the Soviet army.
- This color documentary account of the Communist conquest of China begins in 1929 (all archive footage) when Mao Zedong and his small army held only a few cities in the northern part of China. The band of revolutionaries increased when the poverty-stricken citizens joined the Communist ranks in a response to promises of land reforms and relief. When Japan attacked the country in 1937, it was Mao's Communist army which took the brunt of the defense fighting with ancient weapons. When World War II ended, the Communists began their surge to take over China. All the important cities fell to the rebels. Equipment sent by the United States for the defense of Nationalist China fell into the hands of Mao's army. The Kuomintang in time was pushed to the border of Vietnam and victory went to Mao while the remnants of Chiang's army escaped to the island of Formosa.
