Meanwhile,the old man has a nightmare,where he sees himself as an old sour puss because he doesn't take care of his teeth and gums. He sees an electric sign for Bristol-Myers toothpaste, and that sets him on a more positive course. (The few-seconds of film showing the sign represents the only commercial intrusion in this short).
- This cartoon is a parody of the then current TV show, "Dragnet". Police are warned of an escaped criminal, "The Bat", who possesses a super strength tonic. He hides the tonic in Woody's house hoping to retreive it the next day. When the listless Woody awakes, he imbibes the tonic, giving him the strength of twenty men which he immediately tests. Eventually, "The Bat" lures Woody to his hideout in hopes of retrieving his bottle, resulting in a man-to-man (bat?) showdown between Woody and "The Bat".
- For a chance at free food at a barn dance, Woody dresses as a girl to fool ticket taker Wally Walrus.
- Woody escapes from the rain and lightning into the castle of a mad scientist. The scientist's latest invention, a chicken-plucking robot name Frankie, has awoken, and think's Woody is a chicken! Woody has to stay away from Frankie if he wants to keep his feathers.
- Woody stays behind to swim while the other birds in the forest migrate south for the winter. Just after the other birds leave, the cold of winter sets in instantly, to the point that Woody's swimming hole freezes
- Inspector Willoughby is in London this time trying to track down famous jewel thief, Vampira Hyde. Sure enough, he encounters Hyde serving him tea at the local tea house but she turns out to be smarter than Willoughby thinks. Whenever Willoughby isn't looking, she swallows a "Jeckyll and Hyde" pill transforming her from the vamp that she is into a helpless, kindly old lady. Each time, Willoughby thinks he has the wrong lady and sends the "old lady" on her way. Willoughby sets up a variety of traps to capture Vampira but each time, she takes another pill returning her to the "old lady" appearance with the Inspector returning her to the tea shop. In the end, the Inspector finally gets wise and ambushes her from inside a huge diamond arresting her and confiscating her pills. He swallows all the pills himself to see if they work, resulting in his turning into several unlikely creatures such as the old lady, an outer-space alien, a yeti, a gorilla, and Woody Woodpecker!
- In this entry in Universal-International's "Foolish Fable" series (U-I production number 8327), Herman the Turtle's only ambition is to be able to fly. He reads articles on the subject and also enrolls in Madam Bluejay's Flying School, all of which leads to failure. He pays an eagle to give him flying lessons but the eagle drops him in the ocean and kills him. But Herman goes to Turtle Heaven where he is given a pair of wings and flies to his content. The "Be careful what you wish for" moral goes unstated.
- Professor Grossenfibber invents a machine that can turn an ordinary living being into a large and grotesque monster. Unfortunately for the Professor, he tests his machine on Woody Woodpecker and all mayhem ensues to comedic effect.

He heads to the department of motor vehicles and asks Officer Wally Walrus, who takes an immediate dislike to Woody, to give him the test. He puts Woody through the eye test, the reflex test, and the fingerprint test...with Woody constantly making short work of the walrus' patience. Finally, he puts him through the driving test with the bird converting his car into a rocket zooming around the office driving Wally berserk. At this point, Woody exclaims, "Say. I've changed my mind. I want a pilot's license!"
- Living in a pyramid, Woody finds famous explorer Mrs. Meany dressed in a helmet and shorts, on a dig in Egypt.
- A child rabbit is sent to school by his mother. On the way, he passes a carrot patch, which is actually a trap set by a hungry fox. He remembers what his mother told him before he left; "Don't be late to school. And remember, don't play hooky.", so he decides to walk on by. While at school, the rabbit remembers the carrot patch he passed and begins to get anxious. He pretends to have the measles, and his teacher kicks him out of school. He returns to the carrot patch, and isn't aware that the fox is waiting for him.
- Smedley, manager of the "Snowtel" where Chilly Willy is visiting, notices Chilly has not paid his bill. When Chilly still refuses to pay, Smedley tries various methods of evicting him but all his attempts are thwarted either by Chilly or his own ineptitude. Eventually, the scenario culminates in Smedley chasing Chilly outside with Chilly tricking him into running into a whale's mouth. Finally, Chilly believes Smedley to be gone and returns to the "Snowtel"...only to find Smedley in bed next to him and still asking, "How 'bout this bill, Boy?"
