- The history of the afoxé group Filhos de Gandhy, which in 1999 completed 50 years. The group has paraded since 1949 on the streets of Salvador, during Carnival, having as its flag the pacifist ideals of the Indian political leader Mohandas Gandhi (1869-1948), the Mahatma (the great soul). In fact, when it emerged, the bloc acted as a platform, a way of circumventing the then ban of the Brazilian Communist Party, provided in 1948.
- Documentary about French-born Pierre Verger, who lived between Bahia (Brazil) and Africa from 1946 until his death in 1996, and dedicated himself to photograph and research the Candomblé rites, becoming himself deeply involved with the religious communities. This film includes his very last interview to Brazilian composer Gilberto Gil, one day before Verger's death at 93.
- The documentary goes through works composed by the musician from Bahia between 1968 and 1987. Gil reveals his worldview and creative power in expansion at the beginning of his career in this turbulent Brazilian historical moment. The film is built from extensive research of archival images and revisits the context of the songs in conversation with the creator himself.
- In 1976, Gilberto Gil traveled to Lagos (Nigeria) with the purpose of participating in the Second Festival of Black Art and Culture. The event had the participation of approximately fifty thousand Afro-descendant and Diaspora artists. After the trip, Gil released the album Refavela. The documentary celebrates the 40th anniversary of this album essential album for the Brazilian Popular Music.
