In the fall of 2013, Ukraine became involved in a tug-of-war between the EU and Russia. Both wanted to tie the country closer to them. Extensive protests broke out in the country when it appeared that the then president had canceled the negotiations with the EU on a rapprochement. The center of the protests was Maidan Square in Kyiv. The consequences of the protests were both far-reaching and dramatic.

Part 1 - Meera, the queen of the elves, forms a deal with the vampire lord Vallazar, which is to sacrifice a portion of humans that were under the elves protection so that he would leave them in peace. However, her daughter, Tiatha, confronts her mother, failing to see reason. Tiatha forms a coup and dethrones her mother, hearing that Meera is dead. Vallazar seeks the opportunity to attack the Elven kingdom. Tiatha, out of options, seeks out forbidden magic in the Elven archives. But then an unexpected opportunity appears. Ronan, the king of the werewolf's, asks to help and form an alliance with the elves. Together with their combined strength, they face Vallazar and his dark forces.
