Film 'Factory' is made in my hometown in Latvia in a Soviet brick factory, where workers are still using unique handmade processes despite of new technology. My father is still working in that factory, and as a child I used to visit him to bring packed lunch on observe the process of making bricks. Once playing an important role in Soviet economy and Latvian- Russian relationships, nowadays this brick factory is on the edge of negligence and demolition. I am interested in the idea of disappearance and death, the important becoming obsolete simply by the passage of time.
