Taking place in 1915 Hong Kong, Xiao La Ba's goal since he was a child is to rid the world of evil. Thus, he entered the Marines. He and a few other comrades entered Project A to attack pirates. The adventure begins when they infiltrate the pirates. Based on the popular Jackie Chan film from 1983.

Miner Junpo's daughter is seriously ill and needs urgent treatment. Junpo goes to the mine owner's house to demand money that is owed to him. To no avail. Unable to raise money anywhere for his child's treatment, in desperation Junpo kidnaps his boss's daughter. At the same time, several other unrelated people are involved, either by coincidence or on purpose, in the whole affair. The situation spins out of control. Some will lose their lives, some will be sent to jail, some will have to flee all their lives. A multifaceted story about crime, forgiveness and love in the scenery of the cold Chinese mountains.

This is the story of the inn owner Hasim and his young employee Elken. They provide the travellers with horses on the vast isolated Kazakh Steppe. Hasim is silent and cold while Elken is chirpy and passionate. Despite the clash between their personalities, they begin to understand each other. As Elken learns more and more about the Kazakhstan traditions from Hasim, Elken's enthusiasm slowly melts Hasim's coldness.
