- Seventeen-year-old Sasha is an introvert, afraid of relationships. He is in doubt on what career to pursue. He blames his father, who abandoned him in his childhood, for all the decisions he cannot make. But when he meets an unusual girl Zhenya, and his father comes back his life, Sasha has no other choice other then to grow up.

- 15-year-old Sasha moves to live with her father, a stranger whom she hardly knows him and has not seen him for many years. Neither he nor she is happy about this situation. Protesting against the decision made for her by adults, Sasha shaves her head and runs away from home. Short-haired and lost Sasha was mistaken for a boy by local teenagers,Maxim and a girl nicknamed the Mysh'. So suddenly a girl gets the opportunity to enter a new world of her peers, fascinating and dangerous sometimes. Sasha pretends to be another person, not knowing how far this deception will lead her.

- A friendly group of children spends their summers in an old dacha village year after year. The kids have their own headquarters hidden from prying eyes in a corn field and a legend that says that a treasure trove of treasures of a princess who fled from Napoleon is hidden not far from the village. When a new girl Katya comes to the village with her mother, she becomes a bone of contention for best friends Sonya and Dasha. But it is not only friendship that will have to endure a test of strength. A certain businessman is going to buy a field with a hut and organize a construction market in its place. The children decide not to allow this to happen at any cost and after failed negotiations, they move on to active actions.
- 34-year-old Moscow writer Igor Angelevskiy for the third time failed to win Russia's main literary prize. After the award ceremony, the hero's wallet is stolen, which contains the only memory of his mother. Hearing the news about the theft, 20-year-old pickpocket Aldar decides to read Angelevskiy's books and is so fascinated by them that he becomes Igor's student. The writer sees in the young man a brilliant storyteller with rich life experience. After a while, Angelevskiy and Aldar become friends.
- A family living on the outskirts of Moscow are mired in quarrels, discomfort and mutual oppression. They spit negative emotions at each other, forgetting about love, compassion and God. A tragedy will take them through a belated catharsis.

He tells about it to other children and thinks of, that his mother is writing him letters and will take him soon. Children don't believe on it, however, they envy him. Actually, there's the photo of woman, who gets a job from the second try to the children house in the dining room. Once upon a time, all children see her. She is serving food. The boy sees her too. He is afraid and running away. Everybody is searching for him and then his "mother" finds him. There's the story with happy end. Mother and son are together in the children house. The second story There's the children house near the seaside. One boy is found out, that his father lives not so far away from this place. Once upon a time the boy runs away from this camp to meet his father. He thinks, may be his father doesn't know, that he is alive or doesn't try to find him before. But the boy decided to find him anyway. There's the open-ended story. The third story. The teenager knows, that he won't be ever adopted. He lives here from the one-year-old and nobody didn't take him. He also knows, that his mother lives not so far away from this place. He is always reflecting, what will be in the future? If he is needed by somebody? Why some children are being adopted, but some is running from the children house? What will happen with such children? Who he is in this life? The catalyst of his escape will be the adaptation of he girl he loves. After he understands, that he is alone here and all his friends were going to the new families, he decides to steal the address of his real mother. After he meets her, the young and non formal girl, who ever doesn't recognize him, he is going back to the children house. The fourth story The director decides to take one boy to her own family. This is the difficult boy with bad health. The director with more experience doesn't be ready to have difficulties with this. But the adopted boy destoryed her own family. The suggested theme for discussion. How goes the adoptation of such children with the other family members and with the own children? The children - manipulators. Which problems they have in families? Why there's the very high per cent of the returning these adopted children to children houses?
- In the center of the film are several heroes of different ages and chess status. Following them, we will, perhaps for the first time in such a volume, open to a wide audience a contradictory, changed and incredibly popular chess world.
