When a mysterious "flu" takes over the city, Shayla is forced to flee with her younger sister Lucy. But they soon discover that the virus is a lot more serious than anyone could have ever imagined. Not only is their father somehow involved, but they are being hunted by the Government. Shayla and Lucy are in a race against time to not only find their father, but to save the fate of mankind.

After the death of their mother, Lisa and DeJuan move to Southern California to start a new life. Once there, they meet Becca (Denyce Lawton) who helps Lisa find a job.

Lisa gets a new job and meets Queen, an up and coming musician with a bad reputation. She has to win Queen over in order to get the job. Lisa also meets Scott.

DeJuan meets Ryan, a guitarist who plays on the beach. Ryan encourages DeJuan to sing on the spot. A crowd grows and the two decide to form a band.

After signing their record deal, DeJuan and Ryan are getting a taste of the good life...or so they think. As the months go by...the guys learn that being newly signed artists may not be all that they thought it would be.

Lisa talks with her friend and fashion designer Nina, about starting her own line. Lisa is hesitant about the business opportunity. Will she make the right decision and finally think about her own career for once?

Queen is at the top of the world with a hit song and fame and fortune. But everyone isn't happy for her.

DeJuan and Ryan vent their frustrations about the record business to Lisa. Although she hears where they're coming from, she tells them to be a bit more realistic and patient. Jaded by the business. DeJuan sets his sights on someone new.

DeJuan is messing with fire. Frustrated with the way his career is going, he gets words of wisdom from an unexpected place.

Queen, distracted at a studio session, has an unexpected reunion with an old flame. Lisa meets with fashion icon, Jocelyn Sanders and is presented with an opportunity of a lifetime.

Lisa, has committed to her trip to Paris with Jocelyn for fashion week. She's excited but a bit nervous about telling her boyfriend Scott. She calls Becca for advice.

Carlos and Scott talk to Queen about getting arrested and try to encourage her to stay out of trouble and focus on her upcoming tour. DeJuan has a heart to heart with Carlos with unexpected results.

After his fall out with Carlos, DeJuan and Ryan are at a crossroad. Faced with the possibility that their careers will never be what they thought or dreamed they'd be, they have to step out on faith.

We see what Scott has in store for DeJuan and Ryan. The crew celebrates Scott's new venture and Lisa's trip to Paris. Queen is about to go on tour and Becca is loving life. Nothing could go wrong.

When Shayla's hospital is inundated with sick patients, she hears rumors that the "sickness" is actually a mysterious virus. Even with the city on the brink of an evacuation, Shayla remains professional and calm as she finishes her shift. It's not until much later when she comes face to face with the effects of the virus, that she realizes how serious things are.
