The closest airport to Lourdes is the Tarbes–Lourdes–Pyrénées Airport, which is only about a 20 minute drive from the centre of Lourdes. Currently, easyJet only offer flights to Lourdes from Milan Malpensa, as the airport is very small and has a limited number of flights daily.
If you’d like to reach Lourdes from the UK, there are a couple of other convenient airports. Consider flying to Toulouse, where you can either rent a car and drive two hours to Lourdes, or hop on a two hour train. You can also look into flights to Biarritz, which is also about a two hour drive away. Renting a car is a great option, as the charm of this part of France definitely lies in the beautiful scenery and small towns, so this mode of transport gives you flexibility to explore the surrounding area.

Spend days hiking in the Pyrenees National Park, try out white-water kayaking or rafting on the Gave du Pau river, or go on a caving expedition. Whether you’re seeking a thrill or just want some fresh air and great views, Lourdes is a great spot for you.
If you’re looking for culture, Lourdes is also an interesting stop. Visit the famous Grotto of Massabielle, where Catholics believe the virgin Mary appeared in the 19th century, as well as the impressive Sanctuary of Notre Dame. Try local Pyrenean delicacies like the traditional mutton, white beans, and pork of the region. Visit Tarbes, the capital of the region, to experience its charming streets and local markets.
